In order to modernize the vineyard, Messias restructured part of the Quinta in 2000. Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro and Encruzado are the grape varieties in the new plantations, which are currently reaching full production in quality terms. The rest of the area is made up of a variety of grape varieties such as Tinta Roriz, Jaen and Tinto Cão, among others. The grape varieties planted are naturally those of the region and are therefore suitable for producing wines with Designation of Origin (DOC). In addition to the vineyards, the Quinta also has a pine forest and cherry trees in full production.
Its origins as a vineyard date back to 1930, by the hand of General Santos Costa, remaining in his family until 1998, when it was acquired by Messias.
